Summer Self-Date Ideas FAQ
What are the must-haves for summer solo dating?
Whether it’s an indoor or outdoor activity, below are the must-haves for summer solo dating:
- Sunscreen, sunscreen, and more sunscreen – I cannot emphasize this enough. The importance of protecting ourselves from harsh UV rays, and minimising the chance of getting a sunburn or skin hyperpigmentation. Consider wearing sunscreen higher than SPF50+ with PA++++. Some of my favourites are from brands like Elta MD, La Roche Posay Anthelios, Supergoop and Anessa. Lastly, remember to reapply your sunscreen throughout the day!
- A journal – While I don’t bring this out with me, I do make an effort to write down my thoughts, feelings and experiences after every solo dating experience. It’s a great way for me to reconnect with myself, and document my journey and the lessons learned.
- A smartphone – Not only to capture all special moments on my phone camera but it’s also for emergency and safety purposes. Plus, if I get lost, the GPS and Google Maps will come in handy.
- Bug spray – This is especially important for outdoor activities. While I don’t always use it but it’s good to have it handy.
- A filled water bottle – With the hot weather, it’s so important to stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Hat and sunglasses – Besides wearing sunscreen, hats and sunglasses can give you extra protection and shield you from the sun and harmful UV rays.
