New month, new start.

A chance to reset and reflect, and make plans for what’s ahead.

In this post, I am going to share a series of journal prompts for the new month to help you stay intentional, and make the most out of the next four weeks. These writing prompts are designed to keep you focused, motivated, and action-oriented.

This list is a complement to the end of month journal prompts that I’ve created; they will help address what’s been working well or lagging so you can create actionable plans to tackle them.

Review your answers to these reflection prompts periodically so you can stay on track and keep your momentum going. It’s also a great way to review your progress and see how far you’ve come.

Journal Prompts for the Beginning of the Month

These start of the month journal prompts are divided into 7 categories; this ensures that we stay balance and focused for all areas of our life.

  1. Reflection on the new month
  2. Budget & Finance
  3. Health & Wellness
  4. Career
  5. Relationships
  6. Personal Development
  7. Goal setting for the new month

I recommend starting with the reflection prompts as they are general questions to help set the intention and focus for the new month. But if there’s an area that you feel compelled to, feel free to start with that instead.
