As we exchange gifts and goodwill, let’s take a moment to think about how open we are to receiving the wonderful things life has in store for us.
How does receiving feel to your body? Are there any self-imposed limitations holding you back from enjoying the abundance that life has to offer?
I’ve put together a list of 31 journal prompts for December, the last of our monthly journaling series, to explore the art of receiving.
These writing prompts will help you uncover barriers that may be stopping the flow of abundance in your life. By understanding and removing these limitations, you can approach life with more openness and gratitude, inviting more blessings and goodness into your life.

There’s no right or wrong answer to these journal prompts. They’re a guide to help you understand your thoughts, feelings and patterns. It’s important that you approach each question with curiosity, not judgement.
You’re welcome to start with the first prompt on the list or any that catches your attention. Alternatively, you can journal one prompt a day, or mix them up as you please.

December is a time for reflection, celebration, and receiving the lessons of the past year. These December journal prompts help you acknowledge your growth and open yourself to greater abundance in the year ahead.

- Describe the best gift (material or non-material) that’s ever been given to you.
- How do you feel when you receive compliments or praise?
- What beliefs do you hold about receiving that might be blocking you from experiencing more abundance in your life?
- In what ways can you open yourself up to receiving more from others?
- Do you feel obligated to reciprocate when someone gives you a gift or offers you a nice gesture? Why or why not?
- How do you typically respond to gifts or acts of kindness? Why is that so?
- List 3 positive affirmations that encourage an abundance mindset.
