Compliments Are Blessings In Disguise

January 2, 2024 · In: Mindset, Personal Development

Learn how to receive a compliment and why it’s important to do so.

compliments are a blessing in disguise

Get comfortable with every compliment you receive.

They are given to you for good reasons.

Don’t be shy.

Don’t ignore.

Don’t deflect.

Don’t feel embarrassed.

Own your compliments.

They are given not only because you did well but you made a positive impact in someone’s life.

You shared joy. You inspired. You evoked a thought, a memory, a feeling.

You gave them an experience that wouldn’t have been the same without your presence.

Don’t rob this gift from you or the other person.

Say thank you, appreciate and enjoy.

The best way I’ve found to quiet it down is to talk to my inner critic like I talk to a friend. Learn to understand its approach and where it’s coming from. By doing so, that voice has turned from defensive to supportive, understanding, and growth.
